Meeting room tablet
Turn any tablet into a meeting room tablet
A meeting room tablet next to the door shows whether the room is free, and lets people book or check in on the spot. With the Spacepad app, an ordinary iPad or Android tablet does the job of a dedicated room panel.
iPad or Android for a meeting room?
Both work equally well with Spacepad. The choice is mostly about what you already manage.
| iPad | Android tablet | |
|---|---|---|
| Typical price | Around $160–350 for a recent base model | Around $150–200 for a Samsung or Lenovo 10–11" |
| Good fit when | Your organization already manages Apple devices | You want the lowest cost per room |
| Keep it in the app | Guided Access | Screen pinning or a kiosk/MDM profile |
| Spacepad app | App Store | Google Play |
Prices are indicative retail prices. See the tablets page for the models we recommend.
Mounting a meeting room tablet
Plan these before you buy, they matter more than the tablet model.
- Power: a tablet running all day needs a cable. Plan a socket or a cable route to the door.
- Height: mount it at eye level, around 140–150 cm to the centre of the screen.
- Mount: use a wall mount or enclosure made for your tablet model, ideally lockable.
- Wi-Fi: check the signal at the door, not just in the room.
- Lock it: use Guided Access (iPad) or screen pinning (Android) so the app stays in front.
- Brightness: Spacepad shows large, colour-coded status that is readable from down the hall.
