Spacepad vs. Microsoft Teams panels
Teams panels are certified devices that each need a Microsoft license. Spacepad reads the same Microsoft 365 room calendars and runs on an ordinary tablet.
If your rooms already have Teams Rooms systems with a Pro license, a Teams panel next to the door shares that license and fits neatly into your Microsoft setup. For rooms without Teams Rooms, a panel needs certified hardware plus its own license, and that is where a tablet with Spacepad is usually far cheaper.
Choose Spacepad if
- Your rooms have no Teams Rooms system, or only some of them do.
- You want to use affordable tablets instead of certified panels.
- You also have rooms on Google Workspace or CalDAV.
- You want boards for the lobby and your own branding on the displays.
Microsoft Teams panels may suit you better if
- Every room already has a Teams Rooms system with a Pro license.
- You want everything managed in the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal.
